Our Story

Owners, Dana Carpenter and Tammy Hamby, have been the best of friends for the past thirty-five years. They realized that there was no where to shop for gowns in the Golden Isles when Dana’s daughter-in-law, Lexi Carpenter, began to look for her own dream dress in early 2016. Lexi’s shopping experience was frustrating and overwhelming due to the long hours of travel to the nearest bridal salon. When the three of them decided to bring a much needed full-service bridal store to the brides of the coast, they were determined to create a personable, compassionate space that was nothing less than peaceful and relaxing. It is their highest priority to provide each Island Bridal bride with only the best service and an unforgettable, joyful shopping experience.

Our Mission:

To treat every woman and every client with genuine kindness and compassion while providing an exceptional experience as they shop for their dream dress.

Our Vision

We strive for women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, and needs to feel cherished and celebrated. We desire for each and every woman who chooses us to become a part of the Island Bridal family forever.

Meet The Team

Hey yall! My name is Dana Carpenter and I grew up in Perry, Georgia and now spend the majority of my time in the beautiful Golden Isles. For over thirty years, I was the regional manager of several radiology centers across the Southeast. Recently retired, I decided to take my well-earned business skills and joined forces with her best friend, Tammy, to make Island Bridal Boutique transform from a dream to a reality. Did I ever foresee myself in bridal retail? Not necessarily. But I can assure you that there is no where else I’d rather be now! Our IBB clients are beyond fabulous and a joy to work with. I mean, come on… what is truly better than helping ladies find beautiful dresses for the biggest day of their lives?

When I am not at IBB, I love spending time with my husband of thirty years, Jeff, and our son, Cohen. The majority of the time I can be found in Saint Simons riding bikes, on the beach, or enjoying good, local music and delicious fish tacos! In addition to my many projects, I am also a Woodmen of the World representative where I love to help families find the peace they deserve. I am so excited to watch our IBB family grow and our adventure increase in joy and success!

Hey there! My name is Tammy Hamby and just like Dana, I have been a long-time resident of Perry, Georgia (just a few hours north of Saint Simons Island). However, I am excited to finally call SSI my home away from home! As a graduate of Georgia College with a B.A. in marketing, I have come to acquire a diverse career from working with Congressman Richard Ray in the 1990’s to becoming a mortgage broker to managing several companies, including her loving husband’s Chevy dealership (Hamby Automotive). I love fashion, entrepreneurship, and all things wedding! So when I learned that there was no place for brides of the Golden Isles to shop locally, I instantly felt a dream develop. My previous involvement in bridal retail partnered with Dana’s genius business skills created just the right combination for us to put our dreams to reality.

The best aspect of the bridal business, in my opinion, is learning the stories of my clients. It is fascinating to hear how my brides got engaged, or what their dreams as a married couple are. I truly think there is nothing more precious than a real life love story and I count it a blessing to meet brides from all walks of life.

In my down time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, Mark, and playing on the beach with my sweet seven-year-old daughter, Mackenzie. You can easily find me in a good book or baking delicious cakes and pastries!

Hello! My name is Jori, short for Marjorie! I am originally from Milledgeville, Georgia. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. I then went on to live and work in Atlanta in wellness counseling, later moving to Athens, Georgia. This is where I wanted to switch careers and start working in the floral industry. Currently, I live here on Saint Simons Island upon marrying my husband, Jacob, who is a native of Glynn county.

Health and wellness are passions of mine, and I also have a love of the outdoors, being with family, and working with plants and flowers. I am also very much an animal lover of which most of that love goes to my amazing dog, Lucy. My past work in floral design brought me to the wedding industry. That work experience coupled with planning my own 2013 wedding has allowed me to see just how important it is to understand a bride’s vision. I truly want my clients to enjoy the entire dress shopping experience from the moment they step through Island Bridal’s door to the second they leave with their dream dress. It is so important for our brides to know we understand their journey and can relate to their needs. I am here to help you find THE dress of your dreams!

Hey there! My name is Ysabel Ali and I’m a native of the Golden Isles and come from a large family. The oldest of five children, I would say my biggest strength is patience but my biggest weakness is anything carb related, haha! With an established 16 year career in dance and stage management, I believe that my attention to detail and determination is just what a bride needs when she is looking for her dream gown. I am currently studying to obtain my business degree in hopes of entering into the fashion world. In my spare time I love to play the violin and paint. I am so excited to have this opportunity to help all the beautiful ladies of the coast with any and all of their wedding attire needs. There’s nothing more beautiful and humbling than getting to witness and be a part of such a special moment and memory of a bride saying yes to her dress!
